9/21/2023 0 Comments Blood bowl high elvesWith AV9+ they can take hits reasonably and in an emergency can be used as carriers, blitzers or throwers. These are your cannon fodder and are present to take hits so your positional players don't have to. Primary Skills: Kick, Dodge, Block, Dirty Player Look towards giving them leader, block and/or cannoneer and accurate as soon as possible to increase their already potent passing. However they are expensive and fitting one into a starting HE roster can be difficult. Cloud Burster also makes it extra difficult to intercept any passes done by them. The High Elf Thrower is one of the most expensive throwers in the game and for good reason! With Cloud Burster and pass with PA2+ to start with, he is easily the best thrower in the game when it comes to long passes and long bombs. Primary skills: Leader, Block, Cannoneer, Accurate Level them up as quick as possible so they can get dodge or block quickly to make them more difficult to put down. However they are both expensive and fragile so careful use of them should be advised. High Elf Catchers are the best generalist catchers in the game with a solid statline and good speed. Primary Skills: Dodge, Block, Side Step, Sure Feet However the team can only field two and while reasonably durable they still need to be used with caution as losing one is both costly and can really hurt the teams' performance The blitzers should be given dodge as soon as possible to increase their survivability and utility and from there you can look towards specialising them into a sacker or support role. Starting with block and AV9+, they are solid players and can be a major asset both on offense and defense. High Elf Blitzers are core to any High Elf team. Skill Choices: Dodge, Side Step, Diving Tackle, Strip Ball Lets look at the players which make up the High Elf Team. However they are very expensive and it is difficult to replace players when you start to lose them, especially positional players. They have the best thrower in the game and are exceptionally potent at throwing the ball across the pitch and with their solid AV9+ nearly across the board, they can also afford to take more hits than their Wood and Union cousins. With decent armour, blitzers, catchers and throwers, High Elves provide a coach with the most straight forward of the four elf teams. High Elves are the most balanced of elves. As they develop, they become more and more a fast-scoring team, typically scoring in two turns, though they can delay against teams that aren't likely to cause a rash of casualties. In the early games, with few Catchers in the team, they will employ a mobile running game similar to the Dark Elves. With AV 8 on everyone except the Catchers who have ST 3(4 players with Wardancer's stats!) they can take more of a beating than Wood Elves while the 4 MA 8 players gives them an edge in speed and the long passing game over Dark Elves. I used that as a queue for how I was going to assemble the models.High Elves are arguably the most rounded elven team. Back in the day those things were less obvious and more High Elven - Dragon and Phoenix and Lion Warriors, respectively. Everyone likes capes.Īnyway, nowadays High Elf teams have Blitzers and Throwers and Catchers, and it all makes sense and is very boring. The models won't be terribly different, but I will obviously use a different colour scheme. This is a High Elf team, but I've also printed some slightly different parts with which I intend to build an Elf Union team for a friend in the same league. In particular I do like the range of Elf helmets spread across the units. The models tend not to have excessively elaborate detail, but they have a particular style that I quite like. I have even managed to build and paint a team!Īll of these players are 3D printed from bits from Ilhadiel, who has been rather prolific in producing models for specific armies (Elves, Herd/Nature/Beastmen, Varangur/Chaos and various other odds and ends). However, we have recently started up another Blood Bowl league and I've managed a few games of that. It has been some time since I last managed a game of Warhammer or Kings of War. The world continues to spin, and we seem to be cycling in and out of lockdowns due to COVID19.
