9/20/2023 0 Comments Summertime madness gameplayThere is some fantastic imagery here that really makes you thin and I love the way that some areas are nice and bright and make you forget about the war in the real world. I would say that the game is like a midway point between two other puzzle games in The Witness and the more recently released Maquette. I think the fact we are in “worlds” that were created by an artist really forced the designers to be creative and clever with the environment in the game. Breathtakingīefore I get to the gameplay of Summertime Madness, I have to talk about the visuals. He will allow the artist to enter his paintings and embrace their beauty, but if he does not make it out his soul will be lost forever. One night a strange figure appears in his room and gives him a choice. I might buy on steam too in the future, it's a great game. The pictures he is painting and the war outside are quite the contrast. Performance wasn't great for me had many FPS drops, it's nice to hear it's better on Steam. All of them were minor bugs tho, and none of them had any huge impact on the overall gameplay. (minor) Bug fix numerous minors bugs have been fixed over the last month. (This is true especially for low-end PC, while normal-high tier PC are performing pretty much the same) Slightly better performance the Steam version is slightly better performing compared to the HB one. HB version saves your data on your local machine. Cloud Save Storage of course all your savings and achievements are saved on Steam cloud, so you can play the game from any PC while keeping your progress. Extra content (optional), the Steam version has a bunch of extra Easter eggs and achievements which are missing in the HB version Full controller support, the HB version works with Keyboard+Mouse only The Steam version has a bunch of extra features, such as: Originally posted by DPGamesInc:Hi Commander Shepard, Thanks again for playing Summertime, hope you're enjoying it for now and Let me know how it goes : ) (probably a couple of bucks and no more :) If so, there will be a button on the Steam store that says "buy the soundtrack" Soundtrack : we are working on that, and trying to figure out it this is something feasible to put on sale. WWII : You are correct of course, and I'd say that while writing down the story I do wanted it to have a sort of "realistic background", while still going loose with how accurate it was.Īs you can tell, the fantasy and surreal tone of the game does not need a historical context that was 100% accurate, and I admit that I took some artistic freedom here and there :) (If it somehow works, that's def a lucky strike :D) Controller : that's quite easy to answer -> You got it : )Ĭontroller support is a feature we are going to release in the full Steam version on 17th June, and nor the Demo or HB version actually supports it. Thanks for your kind words, and I'm glad to go over your 2 observations : I'm not much into the genre and so haven't gotten very far yet, but I reckon those who are may want to keep an eye out for this one.ĭavid here, dev of Summertime Madness : ) Otherwise, I'd say congratulations on what looks to be a pretty and imaginative, immersive puzzler. I am playing the Humble Monthly version that just came out, so I realize this may be in the works still for the full release. That is not what I would call full controller support, as advertized on the game's homepage. My controller appears to allow me to move only in four directions, not to circle, and i'm still treated to mouse + keyboard prompts, instead of controller prompts. If conversely this is meant as some alternative-history setting, it seems awkward to position it so close to the real war that did take place. Apparently it was also left relatively unscathed by the war, for lack of a war industry, although arguably to citizens those bombardments that did occur won't have felt any more relative because of it. If it's WWII the game's setting means to refer to, Prague was liberated from Nazi Germany on May 9th 1945.
